Prince George Symphony Orchestra kicks off 2021-22 season with Winter Wonderland Kinder Concert

The first of three scheduled Kinder Concerts took place at UNBC's Canfor Theatre on Sunday afternoon

For the first time in nearly two years the full Prince George Symphony Orchestra performed in front of a live audience on Sunday afternoon at UNBC's Canfor Theatre. This audience was younger than a typical PGSO performance as it was first of three scheduled Kinder Concerts that are designed to be entertaining and interactive to the five-to-eleven year-old age group and was a presentation titled Winter Wonderland.

The show was created and produced by Barbara Parker and was hosted by Kelsey Jewesson. Roxi Dykstra led the symphony orchestra for the sixty-minute show playing a variety of arrangements such as seasonal pieces by Vivaldi, the Hockey Night in Canada theme song, James Brown, as well as, a number of traditional Christmas classics like Jingle Bells and Let It Snow.

The second Kinder Concert is scheduled for February 6, 2022, with the third and final Kinder Concert of the season taking place on April 24, 2022. Both remaining concerts will be taking place at UNBC's Canfor Theatre.
