Environment Canada is telling Prince George to brace itself for strong winter weather.
The service warns of a ‘cold and blustery week ahead,’ issuing a special weather statement for the region and, more specifically, the Pine Pass.
The latest forecast has temperatures dropping between -15 and -25 C as cold air persists through until the end of the week and northerly winds start to pick up via Arctic air.
Flurries are forecast to begin tomorrow morning (Nov. 26) coupled with wind chill.
Residents are being advised to wear multiple layers that include a wind-resistant outer layer and commuters are being encouraged to have emergency kits in your vehicle with items such as a blanket, extra clothes and boots.
You should also check Drive BC for changing road conditions along Highway 97 near the Pine Pass as weather in mountain ranges could change suddenly.
