Students at Prince George Secondary School won't be going to classes for the next two days after a water main break.

In a notice to parents sent on Oct. 30, principal Kap Manhas says the break was "substantial" and has caused the school to have no water in the building, which includes fire suppression as well as general water.

Students will be sent home after period one today (Oct. 30). The school district says students who take buses will be sent home at that time.

"Parents are being notified via the school messenger system and a letter is being sent home with students. Parents are encouraged to make contact with their children," states a press release.

The school is hoping to resume classes on Nov. 1.
