Prince George residents continue to make their vote count with another spike in the percentage of proportional referendum packages returned.

The last update on Nov. 23 showed Prince George-Mackenzie at 19 per cent (6,282 ballots out of 33,075) and Prince George-Valemount wasn't far behind at 18.9 per cent (6,531 ballots out of 34,607).

The numbers today (Nov. 30) show Prince George-Mackenzie at 29.2 per cent (9,665 out of 33,077) and Prince George-Valemount at 29.3 per cent (10,143 out of 34,618).

These numbers do not include packages that have been received by Canada Post and have not been sent to Elections BC.

Provincially, B.C. residents have returned roughly 37 per cent of their ballots (1,225,000 out of 3,297,395).

Elections BC also announced on Nov. 23 they were extending the deadline to return ballots from Nov. 30 to Dec. 7 because of the Canada Post rotating strikes occurring across the province at the time.
