Prince George Reads Together is the theme for the Summer Reading Program at the library and participation is the key to success.
Pick a task from the activity box, complete it and earn a dollar toward the fundraising effort.
The goal is to raise $600 to provide 10 Book Boxes that go to children in Haiti.
The Friends of the Library group has donated $600 towards the project.
"Now it's up to participants to earn it," said Ruth Buehler, program coordinator at the library. Each week there is a different theme. This week's theme is reading with families. Children can pick an activity like reading a book with a grandmother in it to earn their donation to the cause.
"Once they've completed the activity they tell the summer reading assistant and then they put a $1 sticker on one of the boxes and that means that we've just earned another dollar toward the Book Boxes for Haiti project," Buehler explained of the six-week program. "We're encouraging people to gather together at the library for many activities."

"We have reading grandparents, teen reading buddies, family story time, baby time, baby sign and so many more, so we're just hoping people enjoy their time, come to the library and read together," Buehler said.
The activity boxes are always at the library. There's no set time to access the activity boxes so people are welcome at their convenience.
"We'd like to thank Prince George people for their participation and we're looking forward to working together to meet our goal this summer."
