Prince George RCMP seize drugs, guns, stolen property

Prince George RCMP are looking to return a large number of stolen items to their owners.

A traffic stop on Queensway last week resulted in police seizing guns, drugs and a large number of stolen items.

On Jan. 13, shortly after 1 a.m., Prince George RCMP officers stopped a vehicle on Queensway near Patricia Boulevard, a statement issued by the RCMP on Wednesday said.

“While speaking with the driver of the vehicle, police observed a gun case resting at the feet of the front passenger,” the statement said. “The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and a subsequent search of the vehicle for public and police safety located two firearms and some ammunition. One of the firearms was recently reported as stolen from a residence in Prince George.”

During the vehicle search, police located illicit drugs, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a large number of items which appear to have been stolen.

“We are asking the Prince George community to check their homes, vehicles and around their property for any recently missing items that may not yet have been reported as missing,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said. “If you think one of these items is yours, proof of ownership, such as the serial number, will be needed to claim it.”

The items include a MacBook Air laptop in a black backpack, a men’s black and blue Voltbike electric bicycle, Kobalt 2000 psi pressure washer, a Milwaukee tool bag full of hand tools, a tool bag full of DeWalt tools, a bronze-and-grey golf bag full of clubs, a DeWalt radio and a Mastercraft arc welder.

If you believe one of these items is yours, go to the Prince George RCMP Detachment at 45 Victoria St., and provide proof of ownership – such as a serial number and/or the make and model of the items. Quote file number 2023-1292.
