Prince George RCMP seek witnesses to fatal accident on Hart Highway

An accident between an SUV and a logging truck Monday afternoon at the Hart Highway-Weisbrod Road intersection claimed the life of a 29-year-old Prince George man and left a passenger in critical condition.

Police are seeking witnesses to a fatal motor vehicle accident on the Hart Highway Monday afternoon which claimed the life of a Prince George man.

The 29-year-old male driver of a blue Pontiac Torrent sport utility vehicle crossed the centre median at Weisbrod Road and collided with an oncoming logging truck at about 4 p.m. Monday.

“The driver of the Pontiac Torrent did not survive the incident, while the single passenger was transported to hospital in critical condition,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media relations officer for the Prince George RCMP.

“The driver of the logging truck was not seriously injured. Police closed the highway for several hours while an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended to gather evidence from the area.”
