Mounties in Prince George were able to resolve a firearm situation in the South Fort George area without major incident earlier today (Jan. 31).

Cpl. Sonja Blom says in a news release they received a call at 12:15 a.m. this morning of a disturbance at a home in the 2400-block, Jasper St

Once officers arrived, they saw a man with a gun on the property.

Officers then closed down a section of the street and ensured people in homes nearby were safe and unharmed.

Blom says six hours later, at roughly 6:15 a.m., the incident was resolved by officers without incident.

No other details are being released at this time.
