Prince George RCMP looking for truck involved in Cedars Christian School bus fire

Prince George RCMP are looking to identify a pick-up truck involved in the Cedars Christian School bus fire.

In the early hours of Friday, Nov. 12 police received a call about a school bus that was on fire at Cedars Christian School located at 600 Preston Road.

When police arrived at the school they found the bus was fully on fire.

Principal Shane Nelson has stated the bus, which is now a charred skeleton, was worth approximately $80,000.

Triggered by a fire alarm, the fire was first noticed at about 4:30 a.m. and Prince George Fire Rescue crews rushed to the scene contained the blaze to keep it from spreading to the adjacent portable classroom and main school building.

The vehicle police are now looking for in association with the fire is described as a white, early 2000’s Ford F350 extended cab, with a silver or grey truck box.

It may have some body damage to the front driver’s side.

“Video surveillance obtained by investigators shows a pickup truck leaving the area at the time of the fire. Police are looking to speak with anyone who knows who was a driver or passenger of this vehicle on the morning of November 12th, or who knows the owner of the vehicle or of its current whereabouts,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
