Prince George RCMP investigating Pineview shooting

Investigators will be out on Torpy Road for the bulk of the day

Prince George RCMP are investigating a shooting incident where one person was transported to hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on Jan. 12, Prince George RCMP was advised of a shooting incident that occurred at a residence on the 3200 block of Torpy Road in Pineview.

“Police officers, including the Emergency Response Team, are currently at that location as we continue to collect evidence in this investigation,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

“Our initial findings indicate this was likely a targeted event and there is no increased risk to the general public. If anyone in the neighbourhood witnessed the event or saw something suspicious we ask that they please contact the Prince George RCMP to speak with police.”

Investigators will be out on Torpy Road for the bulk of the day as they continue with the investigation. A victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
