Mounties in Prince George are investigating a break and enter that may have involved a door-to-door solicitor.
Police say they received a report this morning (May 10) of a break and enter to an occupied home on Tasa Place in the Hart Highlands area of the city.
A woman says she found an unknown man in her entranceway with her purse in his hands.
Police say the female grabbed the purse and pushed the alleged suspect out the front door.
Cpl. Craig Douglass says the initial call to police was made to the non-emergency line which ended up delaying a response from RCMP.
No injuries were reported and police believe nothing was taken.
The alleged suspect is described as:
- Caucasian man
- Tall
- Thin build
- Short dirty blond hair
- Wearing a royal blue golf shirt, black pants and a black lanyard that appeared to be an I.D. tag
While it has not been confirmed, police say it could have possibly been a solicitor in the area. The investigation is ongoing.
Police add to lock your doors when you are at home, call 911 in any incident that happens and ask for proper I.D. of any door to door solicitors to ensure they are a legitimate salesperson.
