There were 46 driving suspensions issued during December by the Prince George RCMP.

These were mostly alcohol-related impaired driving offences and nearly a third were for drug-related impaired driving offences.

“The message we are trying to convey to drivers is that there are safer alternatives to impaired driving and the consequences can be steep if you choose to drive impaired,” Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP, said.

Prince George RCMP issued the following suspensions in December:

  • 24-hour driving suspension due to drugs x 14
  • 24-hour driving suspension due to alcohol x 3
  • 3-day driving suspension due to alcohol x 5
  • 90-day driving suspension due to alcohol x 24

Police officers are extending a big thank-you to the Operation Red Nose volunteers, who provided party-goers with 470 rides over their nine nights of operation.
