Mounties in Prince George say they are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a 30-year-old man on Dec. 14.

In a press release, Cpl. Craig Douglass says the serious crime unit has led the investigation from the beginning and continues to do so.

He adds the investigation into the incident is a priority for the detachment and significant efforts are being made to identify and arrest the persons(s) responsible.

They also are reiterating that this event was targeted and the general public is not at risk.

Around 5 p.m. on Dec. 14, RCMP received reports of possible gunshots in the 700-block Johnson Street.

Officers attended the scene and found a man outside a home suffering from injuries after being shot.

The 30-year-old victim was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.
