B.C.'s police watchdog says its investigation has ended into injuries sustained by a man Prince George RCMP arrested 10 days ago, determining they were not caused by officer actions.

On May 19 at roughly 3:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a man who was alleged to have been pursuing another individual with a weapon close to the intersection of Third Avenue and Dominion Street.

The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) says that information provided by Prince George Mounties states the man was found to be injured after being arrested and was taken to hospital for assessment.

In a statement, the IIO says the Chief Civilian Director has looked at the evidence and determined the injuries suffered by the man were not caused at the hands of police.
