An arrest made by Prince George Mounties on Tuesday (Sept. 10) led to what appeared to be a head injury to a male suspect.

The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of B.C. is sending investigators to the city after plainclothed officers witnessed what they thought was a drug transaction that day and a nearby uniformed officer tried to arrest the man.

They attempted to arrest the cyclist before Noon, but fled to the CN railyard and during the chase, the suspect fell off the bike and suffered a head injury.

He was taken to hospital and was in serious but non-life threatening condition.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call the IIO at 1-855-446-8477.
