Prince George RCMP arrest 'known offender' in possession of guns, drugs

Investigation leads to arrest of 40-year-old Mackenzie resident David Harding

Prince George RCMP’s Street Unit Crew have arrested a known offender they suspected of selling drugs. 

After initiating an investigation, police formed the grounds to arrest 40-year-old Mackenzie resident, David Harding.

A police search of his vehicle found suspected fentanyl, suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a pellet gun, two rifles, an assortment of ammunition, and multiple stolen ID cards.

At the time of his arrest, Harding was under multiple court-imposed conditions, including one not to possess any firearms or ammunition. He was held in custody to attend a virtual bail hearing.

The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the following charges against Harding:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm While Knowing it is Unauthorized
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Carless Storage of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance

Police say Harding is now back in the community on a release order, with a scheduled court appearance next month.
