Prince George RCMP have arrested a prolific property crime suspect following a theft from a restaurant on Third Avenue.

On April 5 police responded to a report of a theft from a restaurant on the 1200 block of Third Avenue where the victim stated their jacket, containing a set of keys, a wallet and some ID, was stolen from that location.

Police were able to identify the suspect after viewing video surveillance from the area and stated they were familiar with him from similar behaviour and that he’s known to frequent the downtown area.

After viewing video surveillance from the area, police were able to identify the male suspect, as they are familiar with him for similar behaviour and know him to frequent the downtown area.

“Within three hours of the report, police located 25-year-old Prince George resident, Troy Felix. Investigators arrested Mr. Felix and subsequently located the stolen items in one of the bags he was carrying. Police also noted Mr. Felix was breaching several court-ordered conditions,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP.

Prosecution Service approved the charges of theft Under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and failure to comply with release order.

Police say Felix will remain in custody until his next court appearance and this file remains under investigation.
