If you're out and about next week, there is some road work you'll want to be aware of.

The City of Prince George says almost six-lane kilometres of road in six separate paving projects will start next Tuesday (July 2) following the Canada Day long weekend.

Prep work, including asphalt milling, has started on the following projects:

  • Gorse Street from Patricia Boulevard to 20 Ave. (1.48 lane kilometres)
  • Fir Street from Patricia Boulevard to 17 Ave. (0.68 lane kilometres)
  • Dogwood Street from 15 Ave. to 17 Ave. (0.386 lane kilometres)
  • Henderson Street from Moffat Street to Hammond Avenue (0.4 lane kilometres)
  • Moffat Street from 5 Ave. to the end (1.46 lane kilometres)
  • Patterson Street from Dezell Drive to 5 Ave. (1.28 lane kilometres)

The projects are slated to be finished by the end of next week, depending on weather conditions.

"The City of Prince George encourages motorists to plan their routes accordingly, follow construction signage, and to drive cautiously around road crews," a city release reads.
