Prince George man dies after Gateway fight turned fatal

Earlier this week, the Prince George RCMP began the process of seeking witnesses to a physical altercation that occurred in our community this past weekend.

On Friday, Oct. 4 at approximately 11:20 p.m., two persons were involved in a physical altercation near the intersection of 20th Avenue and Redwood Street.

As a result of the incident, 35-year-old Gregory Wale suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Shortly after the arrival at the hospital, Wale left on his own accord prior to receiving medical attention.

Just before 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, Wale was located deceased at his residence on Edmonton Street.

Police say the cause of death is believed to be related to the altercation.

The Prince George RCMP Serious Crimes Unit were called in to lead the investigation.

Attempts have been made to locate the person responsible for the injuries, however he is yet to identified.

Investigators believe that many persons witnessed this altercation and are asking them to come forward with the investigation.
