Prince George man charged after local business robbery

Mounties have had charges approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service after a Prince George man robbed local business yesterday (May 22). 

Police say at roughly 8:15 a.m., they received a report of a potential hold-up alarm at a local business on 20 Ave. near Vine Street in the city. 

When RCMP arrived in the area, it was believed a lone man entered the business with a blunt weapon before demanding cash and taking off on a bike.

There were no injuries. 

Prince George RCMP was able to locate and arrest 23-year-old Shayne Alexander Davis in a parking lot mall on the corner of 15 Ave. and Victoria Street. 

The following charges have been approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service: 

  • Robbery
  • Attempted fraud under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with probation
  • Fail to comply with undertaking

Davis remains in custody until his next appearance in court which is scheduled for June 5.
