Prince George maintains blood donor lead

Prince George continues to lead the 13th annual Interior Drive fore Life blood donor challenge - but it's not over yet.

Prince George continues to lead the 13th annual Interior Drive fore Life blood donor challenge - but it's not over yet.

The Prince George clinic came in at 111 per cent of its week three goal for the challenge, solidifying its lead against Kelowna, which met about 103 per cent of its week three goal.

In Prince George, 481 donations were collected and in Kelowna, the total was 601. Combined, the two communities met 108 per cent of the goal.

"We had another fantastic week at our clinic, and our donors, volunteers, and clinic staff should be proud to be in the lead," said Tamara Sweet, community development coordinator for the Prince George blood donor clinic. "However, in order to maintain our lead against Kelowna, we must keep performing well at all of our clinics."

The next clinics - Wed., Aug. 25 and Thurs., Aug. 26 - are still in need of 60 more donors to meet the donation goals for week four.
