Three Prince George landmarks are featured in the new show Landmarks on Telus Optik.

Three iconic Prince George landmarks have been featured in a new Telus Originals series. The series, aptly called Landmarks, tells the story of unique places in B.C. and Alberta.

“Some are profound, others are quirky - but every episode tells a charming tale of past and present human experience,” said Landmarks series writer/producer Peter Hays, in a City of Prince George social media post promoting the series.

The first three episodes are set in Prince George and focus on the PGARA Speedway, Mr. PG, and the Little Prince.

You can watch the episodes through Telus Optik TV or on YouTube:

PGARA Speedway

The episode focuses on the third generation of the Conn family – 14-year-old Corbyn -who gets behind the wheel of a stock car at the speedway, a local landmark in Prince George B.C. It also looks back at the history of the track from the late 50s until today.

Mr. PG

The second episode focuses on, arguably, one of the city’s most beloved landmarks, Mr. PG. For more than six decades, various versions of Mr.PG has represented Prince George’s identity as a northern British Columbia community founded on the logging industry.

The Little Prince

The third episode focuses on the Little Prince, the train famous for taking children and families on rides around Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park.  The episode explains how The Little Prince might look like a toy, but was a serious locomotive that was originally brought to Prince George on a steamboat to build the Grand Trunk rail line from Edmonton, Alberta to Prince Rupert, B.C.
