Prince George’s Kiwanis Club and Two Rivers Gallery have struck a deal.
The gallery will continue to be the home of Kiwanis AleFest over the next three years, as Two Rivers Gallery will receive $15,000 a year through 2021 in exchange for hosting and managing the recruitment of volunteers for the event.
That’s a total of $45,000.
Two Rivers Gallery and the Kiwanis Club are set to sign of Memorandum of Understanding today (Nov. 22) to cement the deal.
The gallery will also help the Kiwanis Club meet its mission of serving the children of the world, by using funds to provide art programs for kids.
“When we started planning for AleFest in 2014, it was really important to us that we host our event in downtown Prince George in a space that would allow us to bring in brewers and downtown restaurants. We were very fortunate to find a partner in the Gallery,” says Amy Dhanjal, the club's president, in a press release.
"It’s an ideal partnership because we know that the money for the venue goes back to the community to support children’s programs.”
The Kiwanis Club of Prince George is a non-profit volunteer community service organization which was established by business professionals in 1954.
In the past four years, the Kiwanis Club has provided grants to many local organizations including Connaught Youth Centre, Prince George Public Library, Theatre NorthWest, Quinson Elementary School, the Child Development Centre and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince George.
