How would you improve the quality of life in the city of Prince George if you could?
The city has two grants for programs that aim to improve the quality of life for all residents and is seeking applicants who want to do something that makes life here better.
The Community Enhancement Grant and the myPG Community Grant both provide funding for groups who want to make a difference in Prince George.
The Community Enhancement Grant offers community members an opportunity to improve neighbourhoods, foster civic pride and grow a proud, confident, safe, sustainable and healthy community.
Past recipients include the organizers of Candy Cane Lane, the College Heights Community Association Halloween event and the 12th Avenue garden project.
The Community Enhancement Grant funding ranges anywhere from $200 to $1,000.
The myPG grant helps local organizations develop and implement specific innovative activities, projects and events that contribute to making Prince George a great community.
Eligible activities can be large or small, and activities or projects and should be accessible to residents of all backgrounds, ethnicities and income levels.
The myPG grant will be awarded to activities that increase community pride, encourage a safe community, provide social connections for citizens, encourage physical activity, provide opportunities for involvement in arts and culture and ensure equity and inclusion.
Applicants have until Oct. 15 to apply for both grants.
