After a busy week at the Prince George blood donor clinic, Prince George has experienced a leap in numbers, bringing its overall results up from 94 per cent in Week 2 to 102 per cent in Week 3.
Despite the boost, Prince George is still trailing Kelowna in the friendly competition between the cities.
"The reason Canadian Blood Services exists is to provide life-saving blood products to hospital patients in need, and we couldn't do that without the hundreds of people who give of their time and blood each week," said Tamara Sweet, Prince George partnership specialist.
Currently, Kelowna has collected 113.3 per cent of its challenge goal to date, while Prince George has collected 102.9 per cent.
Prince George is beating Kelowna, for the number of new donors they've had through the doors, the clinic has reached 151.3 per cent of it's goal.
Kelowna has reached 120.9 per cent of its new donor goal.
This year's Interior Drive for Life challenge runs until Sept. 8.
