A Prince George resident has been named the BC Care provider of the year for Home Health in 2023.

Jamie Aspinall won the BC Care Provider of the Year for Home Health at the 10th Annual BC Care Awards, which are hosted by the BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) and EngAge BC.

Aspinall is a registered health care aide in working with Classic LifeCare in Prince George.

She was selected as the award recipient because she provides exceptional care, often going above and beyond for her clients while maintaining professional boundaries. Her compassionate nature fosters trusting relationships with clients and their families, earning recognition from homes where she provides care.

“Jamie is so efficient when she comes to care for our residents,” said one her clients, in a news release. “One thing that sets her apart is that she takes time with each person to make sure that everyone’s needs have been met. She’s sometimes here until 10:00 p.m., which is unlike any other worker.”

Her commitment is evident in her contribution to a company clothing drive and her extraordinary efforts for a particular client, including taking soiled laundry home, preparing homemade frozen fruit lax, and maintaining continuity of care by picking up shifts outside her availability.

BCCPA note that Aspinall’s remarkable contributions, both in her daily caregiving duties and her willingness to go the extra mile, have clearly made all the difference in the lives of her clients.

Aspinall and other award winners will be celebrated at the 10th Annual BC Care Awards gala happening on Feb. 27 at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria.
