A 58-year-old man has been arrested and is facing sexual assault charges after a 15-year-old girl was assaulted in a vehicle early Sunday morning, according to information released by the RCMP
The girl reported getting a ride from the man, who began making unwanted sexual advances before dropping her off near the intersection of Third Avenue and Scotia Street. Police located the 58-year-old suspect later Sunday morning and arrested him for sexual assault.
“We commend the young victim for having the courage to come forward to police. If there are other victims that have experienced a similar situation, we encourage them to report it to Prince George RCMP by calling the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300,” Prince George RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said.
The suspect was released, on condition to appear at a future court date. The case continues to be under investigation.
