A local fundraiser for childhood trauma is launching an online auction, which is set to go live Friday.

The Forget-Me-Not Campaign is aiming to raise $55,000 which will go towards helping this young community member with the cost of attending a one-of-a-kind treatment centre for complex PTSD located on Vancouver Island.

Organizers will be donating five per cent of the proceeds raised to a local organization supporting women and children who are healing from trauma.

With the support of many local organizations and businesses, the campaign is now launching an online auction that will run from March 31 to April 14.

The auction will include items like flight vouchers from Pacific Coastal Airlines, several pieces of art by local creators, outdoor gear, restaurant gift certificates and jewelry.

Local artist Carla Joseph created a custom and signed “forget-me-not” painting specifically for the auction and also donated 10 additional prints of her art.

Once the auction closes the winning bidders will be contacted for payment and collection instructions from the administration team.

The group has also organized an all-ages fundraising concert on Friday, at Omineca Arts Centre starting at 7:30 p.m. featuring singer-songwriters Joe Daniels, Karl Wyssen, and Michael Watson.

Tickets will be sold at the door for a minimum donation fee of $15 with all the proceeds going toward the campaign.
