The City of Fort St. John and the City of Dawson Creek will join the City of Prince George in expressing interest to participate in a 'Support Our Troops' license plate program alongside the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.

Councils in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John recommended issuing letters of support for the program during their Feb. 26 regular meetings, which has already been adopted by Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan, and features customized licence plates with a yellow ribbon to signify support for the Canadian Armed Forces.

Funds raised from these specialty plates support current and former members of the military and their families. 7,712 Military members and families have been supported through $4.9 million distributed through grants, loans and various programs as of March 31, 2022.
