It was a day of celebration for Prince George firefighters.

Rona presented $1,000 to local firefighters at the Prince George store this afternoon.

The reason for the donation?

Prince George firefighters raised $23,000 this year for the Fill the Boots campaign.

Rona stepped forward and said they would match the money raised at their store the day firefighters were there asking for donations for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Ian Provan, a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters in Prince George (Local 1372) and other members from Prince George Fire Rescue were at Rona earlier today (Sept. 25).

Firefighters received $1,000 during their day at Rona, which Rona matched dollar for dollar.

In 2018, the campaign raised a whopping $26,000.
