Prince George Fire Rescue doused a shop fire early this morning (Feb. 15).

At 5:13 a.m. crews responded to a structure fire at 5626 Purdue Road near Vanway and found a 12 by 18 meters detached shop fully involved in flames.

Three halls responded with 17 members for the initial attack.

The crews were able to contain the fire to the structure of origin with no damage to nearby exposures. There were no injuries to fire crews or civilians.

Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Woodhouse says the value of the shop at this point is undetermined due to the contents of the shop and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
