Yesterday afternoon (July 27), Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a possible explosion on Willow Cale Road.
At about 4:56 p.m. fire crews attended the scene in the 900 block-Willow Cale Road where the first arriving fire crew found a small amount of smoke coming from a conveyor system at an industrial wood pellet manufacturing facility.
Fire crews quickly applied water to several conveyors which had smouldering wood material inside.
There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel and damage is estimated at $50,000.00.
