Girlfriend's Brow Bar collected goods and raised funds for the Salvation Army Curt Garland Community Support Centre on Friday (Nov. 30).
Prince George residents looking for a well-shaped pair of eyebrows were encouraged to bring in a non-perishable good to help the poor and hungry in the community.
Rebecca Krutow has been to Girlfriend's twice, and says that while they do a great job, she’s happy to bring a can of Heinz baked beans in because “buying food might be harder this time of year, because of the expectations to buy presents for Christmas.”
“We want to give back to the community, because of what it has given to us,” says Nidhi Ghai, one of the salon’s employees.
The business initially offered threading services out of a two-chair room. It has since expanded to a larger location on Victoria Street, and now offers facials, lash dyeing and lash lifts on top of threading.
“We are who we are today because of the community,” says Ghai. “We want to help.”
