Some of the foundations to Ferguson Lake’s iconic boardwalks are getting old and frail.

Starting today (Sept. 25), the City of Prince George is stepping in to upgrade the south section of the trail, installing new steel posts, cross-pieces and decking ‘over the next few days.’

Residents are being asked to avoid this side of Ferguson Lake’s Nature Reserve area so workers can get construction done in a timely manner.

The new posts are replacing the old wooden structures and will be submerged 10 feet into the ground for a more stable boardwalk.

For more information, you can visit the City of Prince George’s website.

Ferguson Lake Park is under the city’s jurisdiction and features a 2.5-kilometre trail that circles the lake.
