One year of CRIME in the Cariboo
The Cariboo Region Integrated Marijuana Enforcement (CRIME) Task Force was launched in September, 2010. On its one-year anniversary, it can boast of 64 separate drug search warrant operations in the following RCMP jurisdictional communities of:
Prince George: 20 grow-ops
Williams Lake: 19 grow-ops
100 Mile House: 15 grow-ops
Quesnel: 7 grow-ops
Vanderhoof: 2 grow-ops
Alexis Creek: 1 grow-op
A total of 109,515 plants were seized and destroyed, 25 firearms were seized, 60 individuals were arrested with charges laid or pending.
The majority of the grow operations were indoor grows with half of those involving bulk theft of hydro.
