There has always been, according to anecdote and statistical probability, more or less the same proportion of Prince George people of non-heterosexual orientation. There was a time when the fear of violence, employment limitation and social reprisals eased, in the northern capital, and that is being explored now by the Pride Prince George History Project.
"It isn't the history of just the Pride group, but the whole launch of the gay community in Prince George, with visibility. How it has evolved," said Valentine Crawford, one of the leaders of the project.
