Local anti-HST organizer Eric Allen is welcoming the premier's promise to not only make a referendum on the issue binding on the legislature but also to have it decided by a simple majority of those voters who cast ballots.
But he wants the pledge backed up by a written commitment in the form of a change to the relevant legislation and adds the referendum should be held much sooner than the proposed September 2011 date.
