Police nabbed a handful of stun guns that make Tasers feel like a spark. Prince George Mounties
raided a home in the 7800 block of Rochester Crescent that was found to contain marijuana, hashish, cocaine, various drug trafficking paraphernalia and five conducted energy weapons known as PHX 800.
"That thing conducts millions of volts and our Taser conducts 50,000 volts," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglas. "Stun guns are prohibited in Canada, but they are legal in some other places and we do catch people with them from time to time."
In order to get them to Prince George, the stun guns had to be snuck over the border. Douglass said the origins of these weapons would not be discussed outside of this suspect's court proceedings but he confirmed that international channels were used in this case. The city's Drug Task Force executed the search warrant, he said, "acting on information received from the Canada Border Services Agency."
The 22-year-old suspect is a Prince George male with no previous history with police. He now faces charges relating to importing prohibited weapons, and suspected drug trafficking.
