Hydro service has been restored to the College Heights area.
According to BC Hyrdo, power went out shortly after 10 a.m., leaving nearly 5,000 customers without electricity.
The loss of service was blamed on a problem at a substation as well as a bird making contact with wires.
The utility is currently working to restore service to about 30 customers on Hoferkamp Road after a brief lunch hour storm knocked down hydro lines.
