Portion of Carney Street to be closed for a week

Part of Carney Street, between Winnipeg Street and Ellison Drive, will be closed for about a week starting Monday morning to allow city workers install a water main connection for the new fire hall, currently under construction.

Part of Carney Street, between Winnipeg Street and Ellison Drive, will be closed for about a week starting Monday morning to allow city workers install a water main connection for the new fire hall, currently under construction.

Northbound motorists traveling on Massey Drive who usually turn west onto Carney Street will have to detour north via 17th Avenue, Spruce Street, and 15th Avenue.

Southbound motorists traveling on Carney Street who want to reach Winnipeg Street must detour via 15th Avenue.

Traffic signs will be in place to notify and direct the public.

Also, water service will be shut off in the vicinity on Tuesday morning for about five hours. Affected households and businesses have been notified, the City said.
