BRENT has picture.

Prince George Public Library is the first in Canada to offer movie DVDs that simply pop out at the borrower's command.

There are now three self-checkout machines available at the downtown Bob Harkins branch which make borrowing library materials easier than ever, said Neil Godbout, communications

co-ordinator.

"Those who have library cards can come and borrow these DVDs for free, just like library books," said Godbout, who added there's a good selection of classic movies such as The Godfather, Gone With the Wind, Dr. Strangelove, to name a few, as well as National Film Board and documentary features.

The machines allow the checking out of books and magazines as well as the DVDs, he said.

Candace Johnston, circulation supervisor, explained how the machines operate. Read more in The Citizen
