Pollsters say out-of-towners need to be more diligent in school zones

The last Citizen online poll asked about the speeding out-of-towner.

The question: Was the Prince George RCMP right in impounding an out-of-town vehicle going more than 40 km/h over the speed limit in a school zone and leaving the 79-year-old driver and her family on the side of the road?

The answer was a resounding yes, drivers have to be more aware of speed limits and more responsible for their driving, which took 46 per cent of the vote for a total of 584 votes.

Coming in a distant second was yes, hitting a child at that speed would be fatal, took 21 per cent of the vote for a total of 269 votes.

No, a fine would have been enough took 18 per cent of the vote with a total of 226 votes while no, officers should use better discretion took 14 per cent of the vote for a total of 178 votes.

There was a total of 1,257 votes tallied. Remember, this is not a scientific poll.
