Poll takers divided on marijuana arrests

During the Citizen's last poll we asked "should the Prince George RCMP and the City of Prince George shut down marijuana retail sales in Prince George until the drug becomes legal next summer?"

Yes and no has it.

With 36 per cent and 548 votes the readers said "no, the police and the city should focus more on dealing with deadly opioids than on pot sales," while on the flipside 36 per cent and 554 votes, readers said "yes, marijuana is still illegal and police should take a zero tolerance approach."

With 17 per cent and 257 votes was "no, marijuana is already commonly used socially and increasingly used for medical purpose," while trailing at 11 per cent and 168 votes is "yes, it's already too easy for kids to get their hands on pot."

There was a total of 1,527 votes cast. Remember, this is not a scientific poll.

Next question is "the City of PG will hold an Oct. 28 referendum to get approval to borrow $35M to build a pool to replace Four Seasons and $15M to build a fire hall to replace the one downtown. How will you vote?"
