Area provincial and federal politicians will be taking in most of the Winter Games the same way most of us will - by keeping an eye on the television - but will be attending some of the events in Vancouver-Whistler either as part of their official capacities or on their own coin.

As cabinet ministers, both Prince George-Mackenzie MLA Pat Bell and Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond said they'll be spending some of their time at the venues

Bell, the forests and range minister, said he'll be in the Kootenays touring sawmills and log sites during the first week of the Games, but will be in Vancouver for a forestry day on Feb. 23 to show the industry to the international media.
