Police arrested a 19-year-old man Thursday morning suspected of breaking into cars in the Central Fort George area.
Police received a call shortly before 10 a.m. about a man looking into vehicles and attempting to open car doors on Gillett Street and then making his way along 10th Avenue to Central Street.
At about the same time a woman had parked her car in front of a home in the 1200 block of Central and came out to find a man behind the wheel. He fled on foot and she called 911.
Police were called into the area and about 45 minutes later, he was arrested at the corner of Gillett and Third Avenue.
Items from the woman's car were found in his possession, Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said, as were some other items police suspect were related to the first call.
The 19-year-old was also wanted on an unendorsed warrant from Haida Gwaii.
