Prince George RCMP are reminding the public that police treat replica handguns as the real thing until proven otherwise after seizing one and arresting two men.
The moves were made Wednesday afternoon after RCMP were called to a report of a handgun in a vehicle near 15th Avenue and Highway 97.
Officers tracked the vehicle to a restaurant drive-through near Massey and Westwood Drives and located the item.
The two were later released without charge but the replica will be destroyed.
"Please refrain from possessing these items in public places," RCMP said in a press release.
