Police seek trio for assault

A nighttime baseball bat attack sent one Prince George man to hospital and have police on the hunt for two males and a female they believe to be responsible. The incident happened just after 10 p.m. Monday in the 2000 block of Central Street East.

A nighttime baseball bat attack sent one Prince George man to hospital and have police on the hunt for two males and a female they believe to be responsible.

The incident happened just after 10 p.m. Monday in the 2000 block of Central Street East.

"Prince George officers and the BC Ambulance Service arrived and found a 50-year-old male Prince George resident with serious injuries as a result of an assault with a bat," said police spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass.

"The suspects fled in a white pickup with a canopy.

"The same pickup was located on the 3000 block of 18th Avenue a few minutes later. All three suspects are still at large."

Douglass said police were confident that this was a targeted act. The condition of the victim was unknown at press time, although his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
