Police have released a surveillance camera image of a man suspected in a sexual assault last November.

A woman was sexually assaulted on Nov. 22 in the 1600 block of Queen sway. A surveillance camera at a convenience store in the area captured an image of a man matching the description of the attacker around the time of the attack.

"The image is of a man that very closely fits the description of the suspect," Douglass said.

The suspect is a Caucasian man approximately 60 years old, five foot 10 inches and 175 pounds. At the time he was wearing a dark down vest, dark toque and sunglasses.

Douglass said police have had the image for some time, but didn't release it to the public until Monday.

"The way the investigation is going, it wasn't needed until fairly recently," he said. "Other avenues [of investigation] have been exhausted."

Police are not releasing information about the nature of the sexual assault, Douglass said. However, he said the victim did not know her attacker.

Anyone with information about this crime or the man in the photo is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
