Prince George RCMP are asking for the public's help in tracking down three men wanted on arrest warrants, one of whom was arrested at gunpoint during an attempted carjacking last year.

Ubong David Awak, 36, faces 14 charges, including four counts of kidnapping, as a result of the incident in the Westgate Mall area on Sept. 7, 2013.

Police were attempting to arrest him on charges he was facing in Vanderhoof when he assaulted the arresting officer and took off.

With the help of a tracking dog, he was found about a half-hour later but once again fled police, this time going across O'Grady Road into the Westgate Mall parking lot where he hopped into the back of a slow-moving vehicle and demanded the driving keep going.

Police officers blocked the vehicle and ordered the suspect to get out of the car.

When the suspect refused, the police service dog and handler, who drew his gun, removed the suspect from the car, and he was taken into custody.

Awak remained in custody for about a month before he was released on a recognizance with a $1,000 surety in early October 2013.

A warrant was issued for his arrest on June 23 after he failed to appear in court.
