Police recover stolen firearms from VLA home

Guns found during a separate investigation

Prince George RCMP scored a bonus this week.

While conducting an investigation into another matter on Monday, police came across several improperly-store firearms in a 1900-block Strathcona Avenue home in the VLA neighbourhood.

It also turned out two of the guns were previously reported as stolen, according to RCMP, who also seized some prohibited firearms and a quantity of ammunition.

"Being able to take firearms away from those individuals known to police for causing harm in our city is a good day for a police officer. It’s made that much more satisfying when we can return stolen property to its rightful owner," Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said.

Gun owners are reminded to make sure their firearms are securely stored and locked. For more information go to the RCMP's national website.
